Announcement of New AALD Members

 

The Asian Association of Lighting Designers (AALD) is dedicated to continuously promoting the development and recognition of professional lighting designers and establishing the highest standards for lighting design in Asia. Recently, experts such as the Chairman and Executive Directors of AALD have evaluated and selected the latest batch of members, and the results are now announced.

 

Senior Members

 

Chen Min
Senior Member of AALD
Head of the Lighting Environment Design Program and Deputy Director of the Environmental Art Teaching and Research Section at the School of Art and Design, Guangdong Polytechnic

Profile: Mr. Chen Min is a senior lighting designer and the Design Director at Guangzhou Yanguangsuo Lighting Design Co., Ltd. His research focuses on nightscape lighting design for historical and cultural villages. He has achieved significant results in teaching and research, leading multiple provincial and municipal research projects, publishing numerous academic papers, and winning the second prize in the Teacher Group at the 2023 Milan Design Week China University Exhibition.

Motivation for Joining: Light is not just a function but also the language of space and a carrier of culture. Having focused on the teaching and practice of lighting environment design for many years, I hope to explore more possibilities of light with my Asian peers on the AALD platform, allowing light to tell stories, making spaces warmer, and creating more engaging nighttime experiences for cities and villages.

 

Chen Yide
Senior Member of AALD
Executive Director of the Lighting Design Institute at the Architectural Planning and Design Research Institute of Fuzhou University

Profile: Mr. Chen Yide is a senior lighting designer and intermediate environmental artist, as well as the General Manager of Fuzhou Boweisi Lighting Design Co., Ltd. He specializes in landscape lighting design for ancient buildings and historical districts, actively participating in the establishment of industry standards and leading the compilation of the "Fuzhou Ancient Building Lighting Design Guidelines." His projects have won multiple Asian Lighting Design Awards.

Motivation for Joining: In the era of rampant AI growth, lighting design is returning from exuberance to restraint. As technology becomes more powerful, the value of restraint and aesthetics becomes even more precious. I hope to use light as a brush to restore the essence of space, meet human needs, and adhere to warm and measured design. Joining the Asian Association of Lighting Designers allows me to share this professional commitment with peers, illuminating humanity and life with rational light.

 

 

Dong Haifeng
Senior Member of AALD
Deputy Director of the Historical and Cultural City Institute at the Chongqing Urban Planning and Design Institute

Profile: Mr. Dong Haifeng is a senior engineer, an expert in the Chongqing Comprehensive Bid Evaluation Library, and an expert in Chongqing tourist resorts. He is familiar with the preparation of various plans for mountainous cities and special plans such as landscape lighting, excelling in introducing urban design and landscape design concepts into large-scale planning. He has won one Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award as the primary contributor, 25 provincial and ministerial excellent planning and design awards, participated in drafting one national industry standard, four Chongqing engineering construction standards, and two local and above standards as the main drafter, co-authored three monographs, holds one patent, and has authored or co-authored more than ten articles.

Motivation for Joining: AALD brings together top experts, scholars, and professional lighting designers in the industry! I hope to continuously improve and create beautiful lighting environments by leveraging the learning, communication, and development platform provided by the association.

 

Feng Kai
Senior Member of AALD
Lecturer and Master's Supervisor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Kunming University of Science and Technology

Profile: Mr. Feng Kai is a national first-class registered architect with a Master's degree in Architecture from Chongqing University and a Ph.D. in Architecture from Tongji University. His research focuses on urban lighting pollution control, urban lighting micro-renewal, and urban lighting planning and design methods. He has participated in multiple urban lighting planning and architectural nightscape design projects, led several provincial and university-level research projects, published more than 30 papers, obtained 2 patents, and participated in the compilation of several works.

Motivation for Joining: I am honored to join AALD! Lighting is a means to create infinite possibilities for humanity after sunset. It is also an attitude where individuals express different viewpoints in different roles or identities. In recent years, I have often pondered the "viewpoint" that while humans have strong agency on Earth, they are still just one of millions of components. In this process, I like "lighting" just as much as I like "not lighting."

 

Wang Liping
Senior Member of AALD
General Manager of Shanghai Liye Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. Wang Liping is a cross-border entrepreneur in light and shadow art, digital technology, and commercial cultural tourism, as well as the President of the EMBA Alumni Association at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. With twenty years of experience in the light and shadow art field, she has led her team to win numerous domestic and international awards, promoting the integration of urban renewal, cultural tourism, and digital technology. She pioneered the business model of operable light artworks, creating tourism and commercial value for cities. Her representative works include Shanghai Expo Valley, China Yangshao Museum, Beijing Water Cube, the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Spanish Gaudi Exhibition, German GMP Urban Renewal Exhibition, Shanghai Greenhouse Garden, Venus Digital Light and Shadow Exhibition, Shanghai Fish, and Suzhou Bay Grand Theatre.

Motivation for Joining: Joining the ranks of AALD senior members is not only professional recognition but also a responsibility. Lighting design has transcended a single field and requires the integration of architecture, technology, and culture. I will take this opportunity to deepen cross-border practice, explore the deep coupling of AI and light, and practice the concept of a healthy lighting environment. Collaborating with peers to research cutting-edge technologies and build an industry ecosystem will ensure that every beam of light combines aesthetic value with technological connotations, fulfilling the mission entrusted by the times.

 

Zou Hui
Senior Member of AALD
Co-founder and Lead Designer at Hangzhou Tricolor Stone Environmental Art Design Institute Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Zou Hui is a senior lighting designer who won the "Light of Asia" award at the 2023 Asian Lighting Design Awards and multiple other domestic and international lighting design awards. His design works cover various fields such as architectural lighting, interior lighting, and cultural tourism lighting, with representative projects including Hangzhou SKP, Greentown China Hangzhou Urban Pavilion, Shanghai Debit Book City WE, Shanghai Haiyue Huangpu Yuan, Xi'an Hopson One, and Boya Times Center. He excels at integrating art and technology with a lighting concept of blending the virtual and real to infuse projects with humanistic connotations.

Motivation for Joining: Lighting design is not just about technology but also about humanity and the future. Joining AALD as a senior member, I hope to stand shoulder to shoulder with top Asian designers to promote industry standard improvements through academic exchanges and practical explorations, allowing light to better serve human habitats and cities and contribute to the development of the Asian lighting industry.

Profile: Mr. Chen Baogang is a senior engineer and a member of the Technical Consulting Expert Database of the Hangzhou Survey and Design Industry Association. He entered the lighting industry in 2000 and specializes in urban and architectural lighting design. His representative works include lighting special plans for large and medium-sized cities such as Kunming, Yunnan, and Aksu, Xinjiang, important urban landscape lighting designs such as Hangzhou Wulin Square, and facade lighting designs for urban landmarks such as Hangzhou Tower and Shanghai Haisu Cultural Plaza.

 

 

Dong Xiaoli

Full-time Teacher at the School of Design, Chongqing Open University and Chongqing Business Vocational College

Profile: Ms. Dong Xiaoli has interned and worked at renowned institutions such as the Chengdu Architectural Design and Research Institute, Guangzhou Urban Planning, Survey and Design Research Institute, and Chongqing Design Institute. She is currently a full-time teacher at the School of Design, Chongqing Open University and Chongqing Business Vocational College, mainly teaching courses such as "Lighting Design" and "Smart Home Design and Application."

 

Du Yongliang

Member of AALD

Senior Designer at China Architecture Design & Research Group Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Du Yongliang is a national first-class registered architect and senior engineer currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Architectural Optics at Chongqing University. His research covers a wide range of areas, including traditional residential building conservation, urban nightscape lighting planning, and urban infrastructure lighting, and he has published numerous academic papers. His design works include iconic projects such as the T2 Terminal of Tengchong Airport in Yunnan Province and the governance and improvement project of the Chaotianmen area in the core area of Liangjiang and Sijiang in Chongqing. He won the second prize in the Public Building category of the 2019 Beijing Excellent Engineering Award.

 

Gou Jiechuan

Lighting Designer at the Urban Renewal Center of Sichuan Architectural Design and Research Institute

Profile: Mr. Gou Jiechuan has five years of experience in lighting design, excelling in project research, rendering, and plan formulation. He has participated in multiple lighting design projects such as Dong'an Lake in Chengdu, the Eden Walking Bridge in Luhu, and the Lingya Footpath in Chongqing.

 

He Hong

Director of the Lighting Design Institute at Sichuan Huacaitang Cultural and Commercial Construction Engineering Design Group Co., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. He Hong is a senior lighting designer and the Secretary-General of the Night Tourism Economy Research Committee of the Sichuan Tourism Association. Her designed projects have been featured on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala, Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, and Lantern Festival Gala, and have won numerous honors such as the "China Best Night Tourism Project Gold Award" and "Lantern Festival Gold Award." She was also awarded the title of "Outstanding Individual" by Xichang City for her outstanding contributions to the city.

 

Hu Yuwei

Principal Lighting Designer at the Lighting Engineering Research Center of China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. Hu Yuwei is a member of the Lighting Design Committee of the Sichuan Lighting Appliance Association. She has participated in important lighting projects such as the Dong'an Lake area of the Chengdu Universiade main venue and the venues in the Wenbofang area of Chengdu Tianfu Art Park, winning the China Lighting Award twice. In 2023, she was awarded the honorary title of "Best Lighting Designer in the Sichuan Lighting Industry."

 

Jian Ping

Profile: Ms. Jian Ping is a senior lighting designer with over ten years of experience in the lighting design industry, having participated in more than 150 lighting design projects. She excels at creating lighting atmospheres for various boutique hotels, resort hotels, homestays, small and medium-sized commercial projects, restaurants, clubs, and villas. She leads her team with the lighting design philosophy of "shaping the spirit of space and the soul of light," treating every commission with professional craftsmanship and imbuing spaces with soul and warmth through light and shadow.

 

Jiang Lin

Lighting Design Director at Sichuan Jianying Intelligent Lighting Engineering Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Jiang Lin, with a background in environmental art design, has nearly ten years of experience in lighting design. He specializes in indoor space lighting design and is proficient in the entire process from lighting scheme design and construction implementation to final delivery to the owner, creating unique value for each project.

 

Lang Xutong

Cultural Tourism and Landscape Lighting Project Director at Inner Mongolia Arslan Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. Lang Xutong is a senior lighting designer with years of experience in the cultural tourism and lighting industry and project experience in some overseas regions and various domestic locations. She currently works for the first enterprise in Inner Mongolia with "triple-A" qualifications in lighting and intelligent industries.

 

Li Zihao

Profile: Mr. Li Zihao has 11 years of experience in the lighting industry, focusing on intelligent lighting, healthy lighting, and emotional lighting. He specializes in providing professional lighting solutions for high-end residences, commercial office spaces, and dining establishments.

 

Li Xiaodong

Chief Designer at Shanghai Boerhesi Lighting Engineering Design Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Li Xiaodong graduated from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a major in lighting design. He previously worked at the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University and participated in the design of several important projects involving commercial office lighting, medical building lighting, university campus lighting planning, and landscape lighting planning. He has won relevant lighting design awards and multiple photography exhibition awards. Currently, he oversees design projects covering various types of architectural lighting, interior lighting, and cultural tourism landscape lighting.

 

Li Xiaofeng

Technical Director at Jingyun Youjin Lighting Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Li Xiaofeng, a member of the Popular Science Work Committee of the Beijing Illuminating Engineering Society, mainly engages in the design of nightscape lighting and cultural tourism night tour projects. His representative works include Guangzhou Sunac Theme Park and Beijing World Park, among others. He has published two papers.
Motivation for Joining: I hope to join AALD to systematically learn cutting-edge lighting technologies and research results in the industry and to promote the standardization of the nightscape lighting design segment, helping it align with the CIE technical system and contribute to the high-quality development of China's lighting industry.

 

Lin Tong

Full-time Teacher at Changzhou Institute of Technology

Profile: Ms. Lin Tong mainly engages in teaching and research in architectural design, building technology, and architectural lighting. She has presided over and participated in multiple provincial and municipal social science projects and industry-university-research cooperation projects and published numerous academic papers. Her participation in the lighting design of the Hechuan Sports Center and supporting projects in Chongqing won the 2025 Asian Lighting Design Award.

 

Liu Haiyang

Lighting Designer at the China National Theatre

Profile: Mr. Liu Haiyang is a lighting designer at the China National Theatre and a young virtual digital scene designer and young theater stage lighting designer. He has participated in the lighting design of drama works funded by the National Arts Fund multiple times, with a wide range of works covering metaverse virtual digital scene design, stage plays, live performances, light and shadow spaces, and digital visual concept design. He particularly excels at showcasing the clever fusion of digital art and real space.

 

Liu Xiaosha

Director of the Fifth Planning Branch at the Architectural Planning and Design Research Institute of Chongqing University Co., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. Liu Xiaosha holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from Chongqing University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Water Resources at the same university. She is a senior engineer, a member of the Chongqing Urban Design Expert Database, the Chongqing Sponge City Design Expert Database, the Chongqing Civil Engineering and Architecture Society Expert Database, and a young architect of the Traditional Architecture Branch of the China Exploration and Design Association. She has participated in three urban management scientific research projects in Chongqing, co-authored two standards, and won nearly 20 national, provincial, and municipal urban and rural planning and design awards.

 

Long Yutian

Professional Leader of Lighting Design at Guangzhou Urban Construction Development and Design Institute Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Long Yutian graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a major in lighting design and has many years of experience in floodlighting design. He currently works at Guangzhou Urban Construction Development and Design Institute, focusing on shaping the nighttime lighting environment of buildings and spaces. Adhering to the design philosophy of "using light as a brush to continue the light and shadow stories of buildings and spaces," he believes that every beam of light should serve the spiritual expression of buildings and the experience of spaces, achieving visual aesthetics while considering energy efficiency and humanistic care. His outstanding projects have won multiple Asian Lighting Design Awards.

 

Mu Jiaxin

Profile: Ms. Mu Jiaxin is a full-time teacher at the School of Design, Chongqing Open University and Chongqing Business Vocational College, mainly teaching courses such as "History of Interior Design," "Fundamentals of Lighting Design," and "Comprehensive Performance of Lighting Design." She believes that the development and creation of design should focus on the simplest aspects of humanity, incorporating both social and forward-looking qualities.

 

Su Yongkui

Wu Chuanyan

Profile: Mr. Wu Chuanyan is a senior lighting designer, senior energy manager, and senior project manager. He is a leading industrial design talent recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Deputy Director of the Intelligent Lighting Committee of the National Semiconductor Engineering R&D and Industrial Alliance. He engages in technological and industrial innovation in third-generation semiconductor power electronics, lighting energy efficiency, prefabricated interior decoration, and smart building technology. He conducts in-depth research in lighting, smart AIOT, building energy efficiency, smart building optical storage direct flexibility, and smart building energy management, leading his team to obtain more than 160 patents, including invention patents, utility models, and designs.

 

Xu Dongsheng

Profile: Mr. Xu Dongsheng has over 15 years of experience in lighting design, with work experience in both state-owned and foreign enterprises. He has extensive experience in commercial and hotel projects, having been responsible for the lighting design of more than twenty commercial complexes such as Shanghai Joy City and multiple hotel projects such as Westin, Shimao, and InterContinental.

 

Xu Huabin

Lighting Designer and Manager at Shanghai Guangyu Zhu Technology Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Xu Huabin is a national first-class lighting designer and the editor of "Light and Space." He focuses on lighting design, lighting control, and electrical engineering, participating in the lighting design of projects for the internationally renowned real estate company CapitaLand in China and Southeast Asia. He has extensive practical experience in the lighting design of domestic star-rated hotels and commercial spaces.

 

Yao Limeng

Design Director at Dahua Night Tour (Chongqing) Environmental Art Design Co., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. Yao Limeng is a senior lighting designer and a specially invited lecturer at Chongqing Business Vocational College. With 15 years of experience, she has participated in the lighting design and planning of multiple landmark buildings and scenic spots in China, excelling at the design and planning of cultural tourism night tour projects. She has participated in numerous domestic and international lighting study tours and exchange activities.

 

Zhang Mingrui

Lighting Designer at the Lighting Institute of Shanghai Tongji Architectural Interior Design Engineering Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Zhang Mingrui graduated with a Master's degree in Architectural Technical Science (Optics) from Chongqing University in 2013 and currently focuses on design and research related to the light environment, including urban nightscape lighting planning, architectural floodlighting design, landscape lighting design, and interior lighting design.

 

Zhang Zhiyong

Director of the Urban Lighting Research Institute at the Chongqing Urban Governance Research Institute

Profile: Mr. Zhang Zhiyong is a senior engineer, senior lighting designer, and registered electrical engineer (power supply and distribution). He is an expert in the Chongqing Municipal Government's Comprehensive Bid Evaluation Expert Database and the General Manager of Chongqing Lingcaige Lighting Engineering Design Co., Ltd. With 20 years of experience in lighting design/light environment research and related fields, he excels in urban nightscape lighting planning, garden landscape light environment, cultural tourism night tours, and electrical lighting. His leading project, the "Special Plan for Landscape Lighting in the Central Urban Area of Chongqing (2022-2035)," won the "First Prize of the 2023 Chongqing Territorial Space Planning and Design Project." He participated in the lighting design of the Macau Bridge in China, led by Professor Yan Yonghong from Chongqing University, and won the 2025 MUSE Gold Award and the 2025 LIT Design Award.

 

Zhou Bao

Design Manager at Aideguang Culture (Beijing) Co., Ltd.

Profile: Mr. Zhou Bao excels at the light and shadow art design of theme parks and tourist attractions and the planning of the night tour economy. He has been responsible for the lighting design of more than twenty Wanda Plazas nationwide and has extensive project experience. His designed Danzhai Wanda Town and Flower Sea projects won the 2019 Asian Lighting Design Award.

 

Zhuang Meng

Senior Designer at Shanghai Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd.

Profile: Ms. Zhuang Meng is a national first-class lighting designer with a Master's degree from East China Normal University. She has been with Shanghai Institute for eight years, combining research and development innovation with design expertise, focusing on the highly integrated practice of scientific research and major projects. Several projects she participated in designing have won domestic and international lighting design awards. She has also published nearly ten papers and holds three utility model patents.
